SUPER HOT Splenda Money Maker!!!

by Christie Bisbee on April 18, 2011

Woo Hoo! I am SO excited about this deal!  There is a HOT NEW MONEY MAKING Register Reward deal on Splenda that runs from today thru 5/15!

Get $3 Register Reward WYB (2) or $4 RR WYB (3) Splenda Sweetener Product

The Splenda with fiber was priced at $2.99 again at my store for the 80ct, so combine that with the awesome $3/1 coupon many of you got in your paper, and a $2/1 printable and you have a sweet deal! 😉

BUY
(3) Splenda with Fiber 80ct $2.99
Total = $8.97
(2) – $3/1 Splenda Sweetener Product, any 80 ct/3.8 oz+  – 04-17-11 SS x5/2
(1) – $2/1 Splenda Sweetener with Fiber PRINT (must register)

= $.97, Get Back $4 Register Reward
= $3.03 MONEY MAKER!!!!!

I suggest using (2) of the $3/1 and one of the $2/1 to avoid the major beep that you’d get if you used (3) of the $3/1. If your store is good about adjusting down the coupon (just by $.03) then go ahead and use (3) of the $3 coupons for a $4 MONEY MAKER!

If you didn’t get the $3/1 coupons, you can use (3) of the $2/1 printables and still have a Money Maker! Yippee! And if your store doesn’t sell the “with Fiber” product, don’t worry, it’ll be $2.99 for the regular kind starting Sunday 4/24!

I so thank you for sharing this. I am going back to my Walgreens again tody to grab a few items. If it was anything like yesterday, I will be happy to see them pay me $ for my time spent training their shift manager 🙂

Love this comment, Bree!

My shopping experience was like that yesterday, too (No Goody signs, Kids Aquafresh signs up before the mid-week deal. Pure chaos!

If I have other items that will cover the .03 overage will the 3rd coupon not beep? Or will it still beep because I don’t have enough Splenda items? Thanks for the help

Reply

Christie April 18, 2011 at 4:12 pm

It’ll beep because you don’t have enough Splenda items.

Deb April 18, 2011 at 4:33 pm

Wow our paper is SUPER DUPER SAD this week..

do you need that coupon present to get the offer? or is it just a sale?

That is awesome! Great find I’m excited about this one too.

Are these located in a special section of the store? I looked in the grocery section, and all my store had was the 100 ct and 200 ct. The cheapest one was $5.49

Megan April 18, 2011 at 6:38 pm

I had to look for them at a Walgreens I don’t usually go to because my usual Walgreens didn’t have the 80 count, so you might need to try different stores, but they are with the other Splenda in the grocery section.

Don’t worry – just get your coupons together for next week when the regular kind will be $2.99 for the 100pk or 3.8oz. 🙂

Reply

Kristi April 18, 2011 at 6:38 pm

no splenda with fiber at my Wags! 🙁

Reply

Christie April 18, 2011 at 8:13 pm

No worries – get your Qs together and wait till next week when all the Splenda will be $2.99!

No fiber ones at my Walgreen’s either, but lots of the regular. Just curious how to make it a ‘beep free’ transaction next week since the printable is only off the fiber variety.

Thanks for this great tip, Christie! This Money Maker totally makes up for yesterday’s Goody confusion at my local store.

I tried your second scenario this afternoon — 2 $3 coupons from SS and 1 $2 printable. Everything is so much easier with no beeps, and I’ve decided it’s just not worth my time and embarrassment to try to explain the policy.

The scenario worked like a charm! I made two transactions and came away with six boxes of Splenda and 2 RR for $4 each. Thanks again!

Christie April 18, 2011 at 8:12 pm

Yippeee! 🙂 So glad it worked for you. I have just given up on trying to educate staff, (unless they want to hire me 🙂 ). Otherwise I just go for no beeps, less headache and less anxiety!

I did this today purchasing 2 Splenda. I didn’t know there was the Cat deal, just thought I was getting free Splenda. Was thrilled when I got a $3 RR!

I tried it again at another store and they would not let me do it. They would only accept 1 Coupon. I see from your comments above that this is to be expected. However I just read their Coupon Policy:

“* The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).”

The cashier that I had insisted that she couldn’t do this. I still got free Splenda because I paid $2.98 and got the $3 Cat.

I was planning the get some aquafresh kids toothpaste plus 2 boxes of Splenda. I tried to buy 2 boxes and use 2 of the $3 coupons, but they would only take one. I tried two different registers, and they both said since the value of the Q was higher than the cost of the product, they couldn’t accept it.

So, I got the box free, but no RR since I couldn’t buy the second one. I have 4 more of the $3 qs so mayube I’ll try again at a different store…..

Worked like a charm…. thank you so much!! Now I will donate these to our school staff who loves this stuff!

I’m so glad that I don’t have any problem with beepage. I always check out with the manager, and we become mor acquianted. And she always adjust my coupon or the product price. To avoid the beepage. Just like what she did on my Reach toothbrush, she adjusted it $1 so my coupon wont beep. 😀 Hope everything will work out with you guys. I bought some of the Splenda today and went out smoothly, $8.97 my total and I use 3 $3/1 Splenda. So I guess I’m so lucky enough to found a very kind manager :D….

I dislike going to my local Walgreens. The cashier always gives me an attitude whenever I shop there, like it’s my fault she needs to put on her glasses to read the coupons…

Anyway, I had another bad experience this morning. After scanning all of my products, I handed her my manufacturers coupons and held onto my Walgreens coupons to present later. But she insisted that I give her my Walgreens coupons to scan before the manufacturers coupons. Everything was accepted except my final coupon, a $2/1 Splenda coupon. She just said it won’t accept it and handed it back to me. She didn’t even try it again, and I’m sure it should have been valid.

My subtotal without that last coupon was $2.32, and I made sure I had enough items to match the number of manufacturer coupons. I ended up paying an extra $2 OOP for this purchase.

I’m thinking of returning a box of Splenda. Should I do it with my receipt or without my receipt? I don’t know how much cash they would return to me since my total OOP was $2.72 and the box of Splenda is $2.99. Plus, would they make me return my $4 RR?

What would you do in my situation? I think I’m going to start going to a different Walgreens from now on…

LA April 19, 2011 at 7:13 pm

I don’t think it would be ethical to knowingly return the Splenda without the receipt. You also need to return the RR if returning the item. I get that it’s frustrating for transactions to not go your way (even if your way was the right way) but that’s why it’s important to stand firm and call over a manager (if need be) to solve the issue. You live in learn with couponing (couponing at wags in particular, imo!) and it seems like you’ve already found a solution to the problem (as evidenced by your last statement).

Mike April 21, 2011 at 8:03 am

Yeah, I decided to keep all three Splenda products…didn’t think it was right… Instead, I’m going to return the two SoftSoaps that I also purchased to recoup $1.98 of the additional $2 OOP. Thanks!

My store manager told our salesperson to enter the coupons 2.99 each manually and it worked beautifully with two $3.00 off coupons. If you buy 2 and get 3.00 RR you get the most bang for your buck. Good luck!

Veronica April 19, 2011 at 4:58 pm

Thanks! you are a total math genius 🙂 I just ordered some of these coupons and am hoping that they keep these in stock.

I went to my Walgreens this morning and specifically asked the manager if i could use the $3 coupons on a $2.99 item. He said that they are not allowed to do it but that he would do it for me just this once. Is this right that they are not allowed to price adjust a coupon down? I did get my $4 register reward which made me happy 🙂

Thank you so much! I did this deal twice today at 2 different stores, using the 2($3) and 1($2) coupon and it worked great!! I love a good moneymaker!!

Erica April 20, 2011 at 4:37 pm

So I checked two Walgreen’s near my home and neither had the Splenda with fiber or even the regular 80count. No one knew about this awesome RR deal on Splenda either. I finally called a store about 12 miles away…they have the product but its marked $5.29…and they know nothing about a RR! So I’ve put in a call to find out if us folks here in metro Detroit can take advantage of this super deal. any advice on how to handle this situation…beyond what I’ve already done? Is it normal for some deals like this to be regional?

Starting Sunday Splenda (not with Fiber) will be on sale for $2.99. Maybe wait till Sunday to buy them. 🙂

I did the deal when it was first posted, and got my RR with no issue. This time my RR didn’t print. I tried to talk to a manager about it, but as usual he didn’t have a clue and said that it wouldn’t print because I used a coupon. It’s so frustrating trying to explain to managers/employees what THEIR store policy is. Has anyone else had issues with the RR not printing recently?

Reply

Christie April 23, 2011 at 2:22 pm

Did you use the $3 coupon and buy (2)? Did you get other RR in that transaction?

The machine could have been down.

OR if you used the $3 and bought (2), which means you were supposed to get a $3 RR – it’s possible the $3 RR is coded like the $3 coupon, so it thought you were using a RR from Splenda to pay which would have voided your $3 RR.

Victoria April 23, 2011 at 5:38 pm

I got 3, used 2 $3 coupons and 1 $2 coupon. I also bought the goody hair accessories and 2 mini pillow pets, and used a $4 colgate RR. I tried again today, and it didn’t work again. Different wags too.

Christie April 23, 2011 at 8:14 pm

Strange – I just got home from doing it and it worked, got my $4 RR and used (2) $3 and a $2.

Victoria April 23, 2011 at 5:48 pm

Forgot to mention, the Goody RR did print.

🙁 I don’t know what happened. It worked fine in the beginning of the week when you first posted it. Glad it worked for you, and I hope i can get it to work again for me lol. Thanks for responding, and for all you do.

I went to 2 stores before I was able to get the mgr to manually adjust the coupon so I could use (2) $3 Splenda coupons to receive a $3 RR. At the first store, the register would not accept both coupons and it beeped.

Reply

Christie April 24, 2011 at 1:58 am

Yep that’s why I suggest using (2) of the $3 and one of the $2 or $1 instead.

Today 4/28, I didn’t have Qs for SPlenda, bought 2 boxes, used my $4RR from my last purchase and DID NOT get $3RR at checkout. Called the Manager, he said he looked it up and found no RRs for it. Arrrgh! It seems like I am having the same issue as alot of other folks not getting the RRs. Does anyone know why?

Reply

Babs April 30, 2011 at 9:51 am

Another note, I re-checked the local weekly ad and it doesn’t state the RR on it. Hmmm…

Christie April 30, 2011 at 10:29 am

You can see it HERE. Call Catalina to get your RR.
