FREE Almay Make Up Remover Towelettes!

by Christie Bisbee on May 11, 2011

Here is an awesome deal on the Almay Face wipes this week. These are on sale B1G1 50% this week. Combine that with the $3/1 coupon in the Monthly Coupon book and a $1/1 or $2/1 MQ coupon and you can get these for as low as FREE!

I picked up these face wipes when we had the Almay Register Reward deal a few weeks ago and I really like them. Almay does consider the make-up removers part of their cosmetics line and the $1/1 coupon even has a picture of the eye make-up remover on it.

BUY
2 – Almay Make Up Remover Towelettes $5.99 B1G1 50% OFF
Total = $8.98
(2) $1/1 Almay Cosmetic Product, any – 04-10-11 SS x5/22 (regional coupon)
(1) $3/1 Almay Foundation, concealer, powder or blush or make up remover towelettes 25pk (5180) May Coupon Book (Takes off $6)
Total = $.98 or $.49 EACH

Plus if you find this booklet at cosmetics with Kate Hudson on the cover it has $2/1 Almay Cosmetics in it. If you find that booklet you can use these in place of one or both of the $1/1 Almay MQ and get both of these FREE!

Here’s the deal…

BUY
2 – Almay Make Up Remover Towelettes $5.99 B1G1 50% OFF
Total = $8.98
(2) $2/1 Almay Cosmetic Product, any x6/30

You are amazing Christie! BTW, does anyone know if you can get overage from coupons from the monthly coupon book, or just in-ad coupons? B/C it would be neat to get overage from the first scenario… 😉

Chrissy May 11, 2011 at 9:33 am

Hmm… I see that the register will show money owed… sounds like overage! Is this always the case with IVC’s? I’ve always been too nervous that it won’t work and it will through off my scenario to try. Thanks, Christie, I’ll see if I brave this one!

If you have one of the $2/1 coupons and a $1/1 coupon, the register will give you $.02 in overage. The policy is for Walgreens to adjust the coupon but in my experience none of the staff (in my area will do it). To spare yourself the headache…just buy something else to cover the $.02 and you’ll be fine. 🙂

The Liquid make up remover is the same price as the towelettes so if your store is out of the towelettes the same deal will work on the Liquid bottles too.

Please help me!!!

I tried this deal earlier in the week, but at my store they took the 50% off of the price of the second item after the Wags IVC, so only $1.50 instead of $3. If you find the $2 coupon still a pretty good deal, but if not just a heads up it my not be as great of a deal.

Did this this deal just now with the help of my WONDERFUL beauty counter girl.Bought 2 packages of towelettes. Subtotal was .48! Also I got a $2.50 off ANY Wisk detergent catalina too!

Rebecca May 11, 2011 at 12:13 pm

Wow, nice catalina Tracy! My store has the $.99 cent bottles (or did yesterday) that would be a great to get two free! (or three for 50cents)

Just did this deal and I ended up paying $2 each.
The may coupon book only took off $2 and the
Half off sale only took $2 off instead of $3. Anyone
Else have this problem?

Julie Smith May 12, 2011 at 9:37 am

I had the same problem. They told me they would look into it and to come back later.

just did this deal during my lunch hour.
It was 1.24 each, 2.48 total for me

5.99×2=11.98
-2.00 (2-1.00 MQ’s)
-6.00 (wags Q book)
-1.50 (50 % off 2.99, not 5.99) Computer did this

Threw me off a bit, but i didn’t question, still an awesome deal.

there were 2 coupons in the book this month for almay and one was a $2 off and one was a $3 off coupon. Both will work for these towelets, I almost did the $2 one myself by mistake. if they dont ring up the coupons in the right order this may also be the cause of some of your problem. they must finish the transactions, then do your manufacture coupons, then do the wal-greens coupons.

Alicia May 12, 2011 at 2:27 pm

I thought I was the only one this happened to. Their explanation didn’t make any sense, though, so I’m going to see if I get a different answer at a different Walgreen’s. There are a couple of couponers that work there, so I think they’d be more willing to work it out with me. 🙂

When they clearly advertise B1G1 50% off, there is no excuse for them only taking off $1.50….that’s not what was advertised, so that’s not what I’ll accept! The reason I got was that Walgreen’s has been getting in trouble for coupon fraud, when the value of the coupon is more than the cost of the item. Let’s hope that this won’t become a permanent problem! Even if they can’t give overage anymore, the items should still be free, right?

Am I crazy? I just want the deals they’ve advertised!

Exact same thing just happened to me in AR. It took the 50% off after the WAGS coupon. I gave them my coupons AFTER they had already told me the total cost. It adjusted the 50% after the coupons were used. I went to two different Walgreens and it did the same thing at both.

The same thing happened to me. Big disappointment. I ended up returning the items. That was complicated! But my cashier and manager were very nice about it, anyway.

Sue- there are 2 Almay Q’s in the coupon book (2.00 off and 3.00 off)on the same page.

It looks like they used the wrong one.

Geri May 11, 2011 at 3:19 pm

My store also only took off 50% discount of $1.50 instead of $3.00 on second item after coupons.

Sooo…is there a certain way we should go about this purchase? Like, can we ask the cashier to ring it up a certain way? Im running out of these and would like to get the best deal possible on them. Thanks!

Lisa May 11, 2011 at 7:59 pm

I don’t understand this….I just went to Walgreens and the girl said I could only use one of the coupons because they were manufacture coupons. She said she tried it before with a customer and you can only use the $3/1 and no other coupons with that one from the May book?

Reply

Christie May 11, 2011 at 8:14 pm

Lisa – It’s important that she scan the MQ first then the coupon from the monthly book. Often if you scan the monthly book first it will often not allow you to scan the MQ. My guess is that is what happened.

Jesse May 11, 2011 at 9:37 pm

Christie – I don’t found the new beauty book. Can u please provide me the code to give to the cashier?
Thanks

Christie May 11, 2011 at 9:49 pm

It’s the Monthly Book not the Beauty Book. You can look under Walgreens coupons along my tool bar for the Monthly Book. 🙂

if there is any confusion just pay in cosmetics!!!! This a commission item for the beauty adviser so PLEASE make sure YOU PAY in COSMETICS! Besides it’s always easier with not that many customers and plenty of attention to give you! wink wink

I was trying to find the wipes but my store hasn’t got any in….!!!

I just did the same deal and had to pay more.
I bought the below
carefree .99
precise tylenol 7.99
1 liquid and 1 towelettes they were 5.99 each
my total came to 5.16

they took off the .99, the 5.00 and 3.00 for precise, 1.00 man for almay, 3.00 walgreens almay, 2.00 walgreens almay and only 1.50 as the bo go 1/2 off. The scanner kept beeping for my other 1.00 man coupon

Here in North Austin it was hard to find the almay manu q’s, but I tracked a bunch down at the 24 hour wags in Pflugerville. The next challenge was finding a store with two of the towellettes. I called 3 stores all out or with only 1. Taylor wags had 2 and the sweet cosmetic help held them while I drove over. I had all 4 of my precious little helpers, so I didn’t catch the cashier in time when she swiped the wags q before the manu qs! The B1 get 1 50% off only took 1.50 off, but the manager refunded the difference and told me she’d never seen the register take off the coupon price before. It wasn’t a money maker, but I got it free and stocked up on 2 more of the tp before the rr is over this Sun! Thank you Christie!!!

Reply

Kiapita May 14, 2011 at 1:11 am

The towellettes didn’t work out for me (the price was higher PLUS they were taking 50% off AFTER coupon), but I was able to use the coupons to pick up two clearance eyeliners for free. That was nice.

Lisa May 14, 2011 at 12:15 pm

Apparently Wags has updated their computer system at some stores. The last couple of times I’ve done deals like this the following happens. Cashier rings them up…they each ring up at full price. I give my manu q’s first then the monthly coupon book. At the end…the register subtracts the monthly coupon from the item and then reduces that price by 50%. That really changes the deal. Christy, have you encountered this? Any suggestions?

Walgreen’s does not adjust coupon values, that’s called coupon fraud. You can not get money back from coupons. Where does this work?

Reply

Christie May 14, 2011 at 11:09 pm

This is straight out of the Walgreens coupon policy that you can read HERE.

“Walgreens will adjust your coupon value down if the coupon exceeds the price of the item”

Also, Walmart does give money back from coupons. That is the Walmart policy which you can see on their website.
