ABOUT ME & WILDFORWAGS.com

Christie - Author of WildForWags.com - Walgreens Coupons & Walgreens DealsWelcome! I hope you’ll find some valuable information here on stretching your dollar when shopping at my favorite pharmacy, Walgreens. As for me, I spent eleven years as a financial educator, certified by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. I taught a variety of classes covering such topics as improving your credit, saving for retirement, buying your first home, getting out of debt, saving on groceries and more.

I realized that many of my clients were spending a high percentage of their income on basic necessities. If I could help them lower their costs they would have additional money to put towards their debt. So I decided to create my own site (wildforwags.com – Walgreens coupons & Walgreens Deals) dedicated to helping them save at Walgreens.

I’m also a licensed Realtor in the state of Florida. I’m actively involved with various community organizations serving as a volunteer mentor with my local Domestic Violence Shelter and volunteering with my local for Habitat for Humanity.

I’m a graduate of the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Communications and Political Science and a proud alumni of the Kappa Kappa Gamma organization.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Hi Christy,
I read about you and it says you reside in Florida. I thought you were in Hawaii? Where are you? I thought you also give classes about couponing here?
Please advise.
Thank you,

shucks, it would be nice to see a mentor in hawaii so we can follow the scenarios to a t and it will work. Our prices are different here. I wish we had more sales like you folks and even our other grocery stores are not as good with sales. I like your site and there are others I check out but it spend alot of time because I need to keep double checking the prices and our inserts are always lacking. Any suggestions. Do you order your coupons from the clipping services on Thursday or Friday since WAGS has their sneek peaks? Any tips would be greatly appreciated so I can free up some time…
Thanks again

I’m a couponer living in Hawaii and although I reside here and your deals are for Floridas prices, it still works here in Hawaii. The prices are usually about a dollar more than the prices advertised in your deals. I love how you break everything down. I followed your Tums, Crest Mouthwash and Colgate deal and tweaked it to get me some old spice deodorants and proglide razors. My total before taxes, coupons, and register rewards was $114.77. After coupons, and register rewards, my out of pocket was $34 and some change, and I still have a $3 RR to use on my next run. Saved $80 which is REALLY good for Hawaii. Thank you for all your tips and scenarios. I find them very helpful.

Hi Christy,

I live on the North Coast and have always used coupons and I’m enjoying learning how to use them even more than I ever knew, i.e., stacking, bogo, cash rewards, etc. This is fun and exciting but my friend and I have noticed that the cashiers are getting attitude problems with us when we hit the store. Walgreens isn’t the only place we got attitudes from, and one local market has banned internet coupons in their store altogether. Any advice on how to get these people to stop acting like it’s money coming out of their own paychecks?

Just wanted to share that the little $1.00 boxes of cereal (capt crunch and honey Graham oh’s) are .25 but not marked that way. Add in a q for $1 (redplum or smart source) off of 2 any size cap’t crunch and you make .25 on each box you buy.

It states you started couponing to pay off debt, well about a month and a half ago I started the same. My 1 year old has has many surgeries in his first year, one being open heart surgery, so the medical bills, even after insurance are just overwhelming. Couponing has started to help a lot in this short period, but do you have any other pointers to help? Any extra advice would be appreciated greatly!!

Thank you so much for your blog! It is such a little rush to know how much I am saving and how much you are helping! You are appreciated greatly in this household…and I have told MOST my friends about you as well!

Hi Christie!

How are the bonus buys working at Wags that I see in the online weekly ads at iheartwags.com? Are there signs in the stores or do you just have to know what the deals are and the discounts will show up at the registers? Thanks!

Reply

Christie June 16, 2012 at 10:56 am

It depends how good your store is about putting up signs. They should ring up the sale price at the register. I usually have the ad up on my phone just in case ;).

Reply

Christie June 20, 2012 at 9:56 pm

You can stack a Walgreens coupon and a Manufacturers coupon, but not two manufacturers coupons. Also if a coupon is $1/2 – then it counts towards both items, not just one. So that might be causing issues too. Maybe read my frequently asked questions page for some more help. 🙂

Hi Christie! Need some help with the $2 off $10 catalina print. Do I use that coupon first if I have others? I’m wanting to buy 4 of the U by Kotex and I have 2 of the $2 off 2 coupons and I have the Wags coupon. I want to make sure I get everything in the correct order. Thanks for your help!

Reply

Christie July 31, 2013 at 11:32 am

Yes give the $2 coupon first – Because of the Wags coupon only $1.99 from each U by Kotex will go towards the $10 because it’s after Wags Qs. So keep that in mind. You’d need to buy (5) U by Kotex and a highlighter for 19¢ or something to hit the $10.

Hi,
Love your site. As a SBA for Walgreens I would like to let you know that many (but not all) Beauty Advisors have coupons for cosmetic dept. items at the Cosmetic Register. Many of us clip them each week so we can offer our customers a good deal.

Reply

Jen September 23, 2013 at 3:09 am

I work at a walgreens and just wanted to let you know that coupons such as the 5,000 points when you spend $20 dollars or more, can be used once per transaction, but when it says store coupon on the top and it doesnt say one per person, you can use it as many times as you want if you do more than one transaction. you could do tons of transactions if you spend more than $20 on each! customers dont seem to know this but it’s important for us couponers! as long as it says “store coupon” on top, it can be used as much as an in-ad coupon. Get those good deals, love your site!

Hi Christie, I had a great shopping trip today at Walgreens and was pleasantly surprised to see that $1.79 was deducted from my total under coupons and it said mfg. coupon beside it. In my long list of purchases were 3 bags of Lay’s chips on sale for $1.99 which I thought was a great price. I was just on Walgreens.com and found out that you can choose from coupons on their site and link them to your Balance Rewards card so this is what I did, but I ended up getting a larger amount off than I thought it would be. It was worth the few minutes that it took to look at them and choose. Just wanted to let others know of one more way to save at Walgreens!

Thanks for all your wisdom. It just seems to be getting more difficult to check out at Walgreens. Tonite, their mistakes were just outrageous, and even simple coupons were working on their system and they had to force them. But I want to ask you where in the Rewards Points program they are stating that the amount spent is after manufacturing coupons cuz I can’t find that. I bought $21 of Schick Razors/cartridges and used a $10 coupon. I didn’t get the 5000 points for spending over $20. I see other people confused about this on comments, and have called and corporate gave them their points. What do you know on this, as I’ve read their pdf and nothing is stated. Thanks. (Thankfully in Milwaukee we have a Sentry store that allows double coupons with only restriction that you can’t use more than two of one item. So nice to check out without all these crazy layers of points and coupons.)

Jean May 1, 2014 at 11:19 pm

I have been told on 2 different occasions that I cannot use all of my balance rewards points in one trans w/ or w/o qs. Ex. I had 2 scrubbing bubbles 2/$6 (get 1000 bal rewards pts), I had 12000 pts on my card but wanted to use a $1.49 rr and the difference 4.50 w/ my bal rewards. I was told I could only use $3.00 bal rewards and had to use cash for the difference. Is this true?

Reply

Christie Hardcastle June 18, 2014 at 3:07 pm

You can use them in specific increments – $1, $2, $3, $5, $10 and up from there. Keep in mind if you use $3 of points on that deal you won’t get points back.

The ad for the St. Louis, MO area this week has booster points, 50 points per dollar, ONLY if $30.00 or more is spent! I called corporate and was transferred to Balance Rewards, where the woman knew only about the 5,000-pont deal, put me on hold & after several minutes explained that Walgreens had four different booster deals this week, & my area’s market was just unlucky enough to be the one with the worst “offer”. I let them know that there are several Walgreen blogs that let shoppers know of deals, so we know when they are favoring one area over another & the only thing that this creates is ticked-off customers, not reliable consumer information. She did say that I can go online & change my zip code on my account and get the 5,000 points with a $30.00 online purchase, so I thought I’d let you know.

Thanks for letting me know Jennifer! My little program likes to ignore the #0 when it’s in front – since in anything but a zip code it would serve no purpose. So whenever you see that (if one slips past me like this one did) just add a 0 to the front. Thanks! 🙂

Hi Christy, Is there any explanation for a repeating problem printing coupons? I just chose 28 coupons to print from this site. Up popped that nasty direction to give my mobile phone number to them ( no way to tell where this goes) in order to get a “code” to give back to them to allow printing of these coupons. This was my go-to site to not have to deal with this. Now this site has it too. You are given option of installing the coupon printer for Coupons.com. I’ve tried this and nothing happens. No coupons! Why is this “thing” there? If these companies want their coupons printed, why make it impossible?

Reply

Christie Bisbee May 2, 2016 at 10:01 am

It’s going to happen to you anytime you go to print coupons.com coupons. They are just trying to crack down on fraud. There is usually a little fine print on the bottom with a link for “I don’t have a cell phone”. Try clicking that. If that doesn’t work, anytime you go to print coupons.com coupons from anywhere – it’s going to be either get the code or don’t print coupons. Nothing I or anyone else can do about it.

Reply

harriet June 4, 2018 at 12:04 pm

Hi Beverly! You can pay with points on deals that are buy a quantity of product and earn points, and you’ll still earn those points. You cannot use points for deals that require a threshold amount to be reached in order to earn points. For example this week you can use points to pay for Pantene and still earn points. You cannot use points to pay for Tide/Pamper/Charmin PG deal.

You rarely mention it when Walgreens puts Quaker Oats Oatmeal squares (boxed cereal) on sale for 2 for $5.00 — but that is truly an incredible bargain price! Check it out at other retailers and you’ll see that price is 50% off at Walgreens when they run this sale. I like this cereal because it’s an easy on-the-go snack or cereal – no need for milk. And I often buy 2 just to donate to the food bank. Please, please note it when it’s on sale for 2 for $5. Try it – you’ll like it!
