$50 Western Union Visa Card Giveaway!

by Christie Bisbee on May 5, 2010

THIS IS ONE IS CLOSED!

Western Union just sent me a Mother’s Day gift — a $50 Western Union gift card. What mom couldn’t use $50? They also sent me some additional $50 Western Union-branded gift cards to give to my favorite moms (and non moms!) my readers on Mother’s Day!

5 Lucky Winners will win a Visa Gift Card valued at $50 each! They’ve set up a Flickr page HERE where you can share a photo of your mom (or of yourself if you’re a mom)! Each week, Western Union will select photos from this gallery to display on their site HERE.

Western Union did a consumer survey that found 42 percent of moms have pretended to like a Mother’s Day gift; and, 30 percent thought the gift was either “thoughtful” but not a gift they wanted, or they did not receive a gift at all.

Western Union believes every mother should receive the perfect gift and they offer some great options for Mother’s Day gifts including the Western Union Visa Gift Card. They also provide a variety of fast, reliable ways for consumers to send and receive money around the world, with more than 364,000 Western Union locations.

I’ll pick 5 lucky readers on Sunday using Random.org.
You’ll have 5 ways to enter this awesome giveaway!

Never being close to my mother, I didn’t want my kids to experience the same thing. I love spending Mother’s day with my kids, and they always make it special!

My favorite thing about this Mothers Day so far is the early present my 6-year old gave me, a precious picture that he drew of he and mommy holding hands. Those are the best mothers day gifts of all and my little ones always have something special they made or flowers they picked for mommy. I love that part.

Best thing about Mother’s Day is being reminded of how lucky I am to be a mom to an awesome 3 yr old. He’s my guy!

I love surprising my mom on Mother’s Day. She is out of town this week and I’m going over to her house to plant a rose tree in her yard. I’ve given her flowers every mother’s day (perennials so she can enjoy them year after year) and she has two other rose trees in her yard that I’ve planted for her.

i love Mother’s Day because it really makes me reflect on how much I love my kids even though my 3 1/2 year old makes every day Mother’s Day by picking me flowers and giving me stickers “because you’re the best mom ever!” he told me the other day that he is happy because “it is a bright sunny day and because you are happy, mommy”.

I also like celebrating my mom. I try to show her every day how much of an amazing person I think she is. She raised 4 kids and had to be a mother and a father since my dad would never help her. She has instilled in us values that will last a life time. She taught us no matter what your situation in life, do not make excuses for yourself. Do your best. You are your own person and you are responsible for your own actions. what an awesome role model she is!

OMGOSH…I love EVERYTHING about my mother. One thing only would have to be her total unselfish giving heart…an example…hope I can write this…she passed on just after mothers day last year…so this year will be my first without her…anyway, she had a quick/unexpected/early death…and, when she found out she was going to die..she said, gosh, if I have to die this young, I wish it could be for helping someone instead of this!!! 🙁 She never had a pity party or complained either in-spite of the hellish pain she was in…Good Luck Everyone…and, love your moms AND TELL them and hug them and spoil them everyday.

Hi. My favorite thing about Mother’s Day is the time I spend with my extended family. We spend very little on gifts, but what we lack there, we make up for in quality time with my Mom & Grandma. There is always a special feeling we get when we walk in the door and see the family gathered together! I only hope that my 2 children soak this in and continue this pattern. What a wonderful excuse to celebrate our family heritage!

I love Mothers Day because the kids REALLY go over the tops trying to treat me special and of course the infamous Hap, Hap, Happy Mama’s Day song courtesy of the old Peanut, Butter and Jelly Otter, remember that show, what was the real name???

Mother’s Day is my favorite day because being a mother is the most important part of my life. I love that my kids make me feel special and appreciated 🙂 I also am so blessed to have a wonderful mother and it’s another excuse to tell her how much I love and appreciate her.

I love Mother’s Day because where we’re from (Nicaragua) we celebrate it on May 30. So my mommy gets the day off of work because Memorial Day is around that date. 🙂

It works out well for her.

I love mothers day because my hubby makes me the best breakfast & handles all the arguments the kids have. I get the day off, which is especially nice since I am a stay home mom.
